Your music, your rules

Requests, and the do-not-play list

Six weeks out we send a one-page planner. It’s short on purpose.

  1. Your walk-in, signing and walk-out songs, or let us choose.
  2. Your first dance, and whether you want it cut short.
  3. Ten songs that would make the night. We’ll play most of them.
  4. The do-not-play list. We treat it as law, guest requests included.

  6. Speeches & cakeRun to time, with the microphone handed over properly.

Which parts?

Questions

The practical things

What do you need from the venue for equipment and power?

Two standard power points within 10 metres for the DJ, and one for strings if they’re outdoors. The acoustic duo can run on battery for a garden ceremony. We bring all our own speakers, microphones, stands and leads, tested and tagged.

Our venue has a noise limit. Is that a problem?

No. Plenty of Sydney venues have a decibel limiter or an 11pm curfew. We ask the venue for their limit beforehand, set our system under it and point the speakers away from the neighbours. A full floor depends more on song choice than on volume.

Do you take breaks?

Strings and the duo play in sets with short breaks between, usually while you sign or during photos, so you never hear silence. The DJ doesn’t stop; dinner music runs from a playlist while we eat our meal, which we ask the venue to provide.

What does the MC actually do?

Runs the timeline with the venue coordinator, announces your entrance, introduces each speech, keeps things moving if one runs long, and calls the cake, first dance, bouquet and farewell. Friendly and clear, with no comedy routine.

How do we lock in a date?

We hold a date for seven days after we quote. A deposit and a short agreement confirm it, and the rest is due two weeks before the wedding.
