We come to you

A calm morning, at home.

Ivory & Ash is four artists: our lead artist and three others who have worked beside her for years. Each of us does both hair and makeup, so a party of six can be finished in a single relaxed morning. We plan the order with you, keep to time, and leave the room as we found it.

Questions

Good to know.

How early can you start?

As early as you need. For big parties or morning ceremonies we often arrive at 5am. Starts before 6am are A$60 per artist, and we'll tell you when bringing a third artist would let everyone sleep in a little.

Do you leave a touch-up kit?

Yes. Every bride keeps a small pouch with her lip colour, blotting papers, powder, a few pins and a mini hairspray. If you'd rather have one of us there for photos and the ceremony, add stay-on touch-ups.

How should I prepare my skin?

Keep to your usual routine in the last month and leave new facials, peels and treatments at least two weeks before. Drink water, sleep, and come to us with clean, moisturised skin. We'll prep with gentle products on the day and work around sensitive skin.

How should my hair be on the day?

Wash it the night before and dry it fully, with no oils or heavy conditioner at the roots. For some styles we ask for day-two hair. We'll tell you at the trial.

Do I need a trial?

We recommend one, about two to three months before the wedding. It's where we settle your look, time each service and test how the makeup wears. Wear something in your dress colour and bring your accessories.

Do you do traditional and cultural looks?

Yes. Tell us about your ceremonies, outfits and any changes through the day when you enquire. We'll plan time and pinning for each, and bring extra hands for multi-event days.

How do we lock in the date?

Once you're happy with the written quote, a 30% deposit holds your date. The balance is due a week before the wedding. Dates move around, so we hold one for seven days after quoting.
